About Tulbagh
|
 |
Tulbagh village is
situated in a scenic valley,
surrounded by the majestic Witzenberg, Winterhoek,
Saronsberg and Obiqua mountains. |
|
One of the many reasons why it is so special is that
it is a destination town – not a drive through. |
 |
 |
What was once a mostly Afrikaans speaking farming community has now
become quite cosmopolitan while maintaining its rural charm. |
|
Home to historical Church Street with its 32 Cape Dutch style national
monuments – including
the
Oude Kerk Volksmuseum and its annexes
which showcase a Cape
Dutch exhibition as well
as a photographic
exhibition of the devastating effects of the 1969 earthquake and
the restoration
of Church Street and various other
historical buildings.
The stately Oude Drostdy Museum is
situated a few
kilometers out of
town and also offers wine tasting and sales of
Drostdyhof
wines.
